The Canadian passport has been completely updated by the Canadian government, and a number of additional security features have been included to assist protect your identity.
New passport have security features like,
- Updated unchangeable data page.
- The covers have metallic foils in the form of maple leaves.
- A maple leaf debossed on the back.
They’ve added color-shifting ink in the form of a deer and a snowfall to the inside of the front cover, and on the opposite page, we’ve included a clear passport chip and antenna. These features can be used to secure your data and verify the validity of your passport.
Goverment of Canada have added a kinegram that, when viewed from various angles, changes colour and seems to move. On the same page, there is a picture of you and your birthdate that changes appearance based on how you look at it.
The page containing your personal information is now composed of polycarbonate, which is more resistant to water damage than previously and will last longer. Additionally, rather than having your personal information printed ink on the page, it is now laser-engraved.
You can receive the new or the old version depending on when you apply. To make sure your passport is recognised as a valid travel document, you don’t need to renew early because both versions are safe and dependable.
